Welcome to Ink & Ivy. By creating an account or using this site, you agree to these terms. Please read them they're written in plain language, not legalese.

1. What this app is

Ink & Ivy is a personal reading and book review platform where users can track books, write reviews, join book clubs, participate in reading challenges, and get AI-powered book recommendations. It is currently an independent, small-scale project.

2. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Don't share your login with others.
  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

3. Your content

  • You retain ownership of the reviews, comments, and other content you post.
  • By posting content, you grant Ink & Ivy a license to display, store, and distribute that content within the app (for example, showing your review on a book's page).
  • You're responsible for what you post. Don't post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes on someone else's copyright.
  • We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms, and to suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.

4. Community conduct

Ink & Ivy is meant to be a welcoming space for readers. You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Post spam or unsolicited advertising
  • Impersonate another person
  • Attempt to disrupt the site's operation (e.g., abusing rate limits, attempting unauthorized access)

If you see content or behavior that violates these terms, you can report it using the report feature, or contact us directly (see below).

5. Book data and third-party content

Book information (titles, covers, descriptions) displayed on Ink & Ivy comes from the Google Books API and is the property of its respective publishers and rights holders. We display this information under Google's API terms of use and do not claim ownership of book covers, descriptions, or other publisher-provided content.

6. AI-generated content

The "For You" recommendations and Book Trivia features use Anthropic's Claude AI to generate suggestions and trivia questions. These are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate always verify book details independently before relying on AI-generated information (for example, don't treat trivia answers as guaranteed fact).

7. No warranty

Ink & Ivy is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it running smoothly, but we don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the app develops.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ink & Ivy and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or content.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice, at our discretion.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from your use of Ink & Ivy will be subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app grows. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever changes are made.
